Flynn Funeral Home for Thomas Clift, 39, of Standardville, who died Friday following an operation for cancer of the stomach. The body was shipped Wednesday morning to Louisville, Colo., for interment. Deceased was born Mo., March 11, 1892, at Jacksonville, a son of Thomas Clift and Annie Shepherd Clift He was employed by the 8tandardville Coal company as a motorman. Surviving are his widow, Bessie Clift and two children, Margie and Jack, of Standardville; two brothers, Theodore and Raymond'Clift of Lafayette, Colo., and four sisters, Mrs. Francis Nase and Mrs. May Hensley of Lafayette, Mrs. Nellie King of Los Angeles, Calif., and Mrs. Josie Cragg of Battle Creek, Mich. The trial of Steve Makria for assault with a deadly weapon is scheduled to begin Friday. A plea of not guilty has been entered by the defendant. Joseph Earl Jones of Colton will go to trial on Monday at 10 a .iu. on a charge of involuntary manslaughter. He is alleged to have been responsible for the death of George Jouflaa, 15, who was struck by Jones ear while standing on the highway near Helper in July. A. L. Lambxon, who has pleaded guilty to a charoe of failure to provide, will go before the eourt at 2 p. m. Wednesday. Information charging Cipriano Comargo with attempted robbery was dismissed in the district eourt Friday on motion of Fred W. Keller, prosecuting attorney, and the case remanded back to the justices court. T. W. Miller appeared before the eourt Friday and entered a plea of not guilty to a eharge of failure to provide.
