(STUBBY) PETERS EX Carboh and Huntington will clash tonight at Huntington in what should be the feature game of the third round ef play in See. A of Region 5, The two are about evenly matched, but nnntington will have an edge by n on their own floor. The Huntington five is the largest in the section and the boys have been together for the past two yean. They upset the dope in the firyt gave of the season by defeating Ferron at Ferron nineteen to thirteen. The beet Carbon eould do was to beat Ferron with a score of twenty-on- e to. fourteen at Price. The fact that the former won from Central and Huntington lost to the save team does not indicate the relative strength of the two. Central played a wonderful floor game and a guarding one at Huntington. Carbon had a great night at Central and the faet that the two are bitter rivals only made the Carbon boys fierht harder than ever to win. Huntington has a defense worked out splendid and their opponents are having a hard time scoring through the set defense. Young and Nielson are the two scoring sees of Huntington and have been going great guns in all of the games so far. Young is second highpoint man in the section just four points behind Kay of Carbon. Carbon will start with Captain Jean-acland Hansen at forwards, Kay at center and Pressett and Roberta at guard positions. Roberts has been going eieellontly in practice and looked good agaiiwt Ferron last Friday. Stevens will be injected into the fray for Hanson, providing the latter does not get going. When Hansen has one night he is a hard man to beat, but lie has been unable to get going as he should for this season: Jeanselme has completely recovered from his recent illness and should be in fine shape. The boys realize that they must defeat Huntington if they are to get any place in this section. If Carbon sn win at Huntington they will have a firm hold on first place in the section and will praetieally have second place and a berth in the round robin tournament einched. A win for Huntington and one for Ferron would tie Central, Carbon and Huntington. Centnl will tangle with Ferron at Ferron in what should prove to be a thriller. The latter has a tough team and although they have lost two they did not do so without ' furnishing plenty of opposition. Ferron had an off night when playing Huntington, . bnt earns back strong and almost beat Carbon at Price. Central is not tak-i- n the game in a light manner as the Castle Dale boys realise that Ferron is hard to beat on their own floor. Thomas and D.E. Williams are to ffieiate the game at Huntington, Wnd if is expected that C. H. Madsen and Keith Scegmillcr will handle the Casn contest at Ferron. tle BASKETBALL STANDING OF THE TEAMS Section A, Region 5. be-i- five-ma- n Dale-Ferro- LAST FRIDAY'S GAMES Carbon 21, Ferron 14, at Price. Carbon fought for all that was in them, but the harder they tried the worse they were. The off night will probably help the boys as they will get over the idea that they can win without very mueh trouble.
