Hiawatha and Price remained in n tie fur the leailemhip of the Eastern Utah Baseball league by winning over Castle Gate and Standardville, rwtw-tivelin last Sunday content. KenMohr-lan-d ilworth, by lotting to the fast notch a down waa puahed crowd, in' the team standing, while the victory of Sunnyside over Helper and the lottfl of ('antic Gate to Hiawatha, placea these two teams on a par at .501) each. Hiawatha won over Castle Gate, 6 to 5, in the fastest played game in the league this season, it requiring minutes. but an hour and forty-fiv- e After a two weeka layoff Woodhave was assigned to mound duty for Hiawatha and pitched a good game. The visitors five runs in the eighth gave them a temporary lead which Hiawarally in tha overcame with a three-ru- n their half of the same period. Castle Gate played their best game of the season and not an error waa made by Scott aid the Gate aggregation. Swenson proved to be the best hitters of the contest by getting a double and a single out of three attempts. Price won over Standardville last Sunday, 18 to 16, in one of the rarest games of baseball ever played in this seetion of the state. The contest was featured by the scoring of thirty-fon- r and the making of fortv hits and many error. Each team was responsible for ten misplays, and Price collected bnt nineteen of the forty hits, being outhit by the losers. A peculiar part of the game was the fact that Elmer llaacke of Salt Lake City hits and sixteen allowed twenty-on- e runs and still was credited with striking out twelve batten. Wilson made a beautiful running eatch of a foul ball, providing the fielding sensation of the day. The Priee team led at the first of the ninth by a score of 18 to 6, and the visitors put a scare into the fans by almost tieing the count in the niiith after seoring ten runs. Kenilworth was forced to take the small end of a 7 to 2 score at Mohr-lan- d when the visiton pitcher, Dud-le- r, who has been hurling A--l hall all season, blew up in the second inning. Molirland scored five runs in the second on two walks, two hit batsmen, two errors by Dudler and three by his teammates and three hits. As a result of the defeat Kenilworth dropped ont of a tie with Hiawatha and Price for first place in the league. Braug pitch-- a good game for the winners and was accorded wonderful support, especially by Evans, Duffy and Klecker, who handled everything that came their way. Evana and Duffy for the winners looked like a million dollar at third and short, respectively, and will bear watching in future games. The event was played under protest, as the Kenilworth management states that the league secretary has not as yet received contracts for Evans and Duffy. Next Sundays game between Price and Hiawatha at Price promises to be a fast one aa these two are now tied for first place in the league with four games won and one lost and each is sure to play their hardest to retain the high position. y, OaJftATUW BE PREPARED TO GET THE BIG ONES A freat deal depends on the tackle when you get a big one on your hook.
