He received his common school education in the publie schools of Utah county, after which he attended tho University of Utah. In 1899 he was graduated from the normal school of tho University of Utah and in 1908 he was graduated with the degree ol A3, from the aeme institution. Ho has been engaged in school teaching for n period of six years: one year in the common schools of Summit county, four years in the branch normal school at Cedar City, Utah, and one year in the history department of the University of Utah. Ho has also spent one year and a half in the employ of the Rocky Mountain Telephone company in its general office at Salt Lake City. He received hia legal education in tho University of Chicago and waa admitted to practice before the supreme court of Utah in 1908. Since his admission to practice be waa engaged in the practice of his profession at Spanish Fork, Utah, until ho waa elected to the office of district judge of tho Fourth Judicial district about six years ago.
