WITH CASH returned from a four weeks trip iu me Black Horse Mining District ta White Fine County, N't i ads. He reports many new discoveries In this wonderful A new discovery about tx miles from Black Horse is returning free gold. In targe quantities. He rtporis the opening of n body of high grade ore on the extension of the Ban Pedro mine. This is a new strike and is something out of the ordinary, being on a psralhl vein to the tSau Pedio pay stake. Mr. Hixon report the San Pedro looking Letter with every shot, and from the present indications, it look like the San Pedro is goiug to be n wonder. The Lucky Dutchman strike on which, se any, several men are now empIoed, the development work is responding to the efforts of the men, in the most gratifying uiannT, and they seem to have struck on the main ore shut of the Black Horse pi, streak. On Silver creek, where W. B. Wedcll of Ogden, together with Harry Waller, TV. IS. Hulae. and the Tilford Bros, have a number of men employed Their efforts are meeting with moat gratifying result. The Silver showing cn the surface ia gradually Increasing in width and value. The ore that is now being sacked from this property will probably run high enough to pay the expenses of mining, milling udn transporting. This is saying a great deal for the prospect. Xew discoveries have also been made on Baker Creek. A tributary gulch of the Black Horse. Osceola district. In thla discovery they have, found rich gold quarts in which free gold may bo seen with the naked eye. The last., aud nioet sensational find la seven miles from Black Horse, where targe pieces of quarts literally covered with gold are being extracted. Mr. Hixon reiorta a great scarcity of lumber at Blark Horse, the government agent having closed down the lumber mills in that district. It Is quite probable that in the near future large lumber yards will be established to accomodate the active demand, hut Mr. Hlvin save that so far lumber la like gold dollars. In reply to the inquiries as (o the future of Black Horse, Mr. Fllxcn says that being a carpenter and builder, he 1a not In a position to pass a mining aland point of a opinion, but from man who has heard of the numerous new strikes he is convinced that it Is the Cuming gold district of Nevada. Mr Hixon has no Interests in the snd only speaks of It from the standpoint of an outsider. ROBBERS at Methodist Church Sunday Given Evening, An unusually large crowd was present at thg First Methodist church last evening to w linens a fine aud rare collection of stereopiicun views and to PICKED UP AND FLED. MACHINE Get-Awa- Cltvar Early Sunday morning two men entered the Royal Exchange saluun ou Twvnty-flftstreet and picked up a heavy cash register containing 19.85 In change and two goid watches. They carried the register to the alley In the rear but before rhey could extract the contents were discovered by a man who :gave the alarm and after a short chase the culprit were arrested and lodged In jail where they were register id aa Frank Thiel and Edward Newton. Entrance to the saloon was gained by removing a pane of glass in the rear dour. They took the register from the rear bar and ran with it to the alley. In their flight they pressed one of the keys juat enough to kick the mechanism aud eitdenily became frightened upon seeing that they had been discovered that they could not comprehend why the niechanlam did . not work. Setting the machine on the ground in the alley aud covering It with a coat they ran down Twenty-fiftstreet. But the man who eawr them knew a trick that waa worth two of thelra and started In pursuit. While traveling at a high pace he asked a spectator to notify tne police and non Sergeant Chambers and other officers were on the trail. Before they succeeded in Obiter apprehending the fugitive Russel who was then holding down that beat, headed them off at the cor rwr of Twenty-fift- h and Lincoln and started them towards the police station. It is thought at police that Uie men are tough characters and an effort will probably be made to look up their past record. LETTER LIST.
