NEW HAVEN, Conn, Sept. 15 Gladiator of th gridiron are gathering on the campus of Old Eli today to report for football practice. Nearly ail the Tale veteran who are candidates for this year's team are here and during the nest ten days will engage in active work. L. H. Biglow, captain of last year's team, Tad" Jones, quarter, and Capt. Robert B. Burch, of Cincinnati, evlll be in charge of the work. From last year's team Tale lose Jones, Quarterback; Blglow and Paige, tackles; Alcott and Jones, ends; Botnar, right halfback; Dines, substitute quarterback, anj E. C. Congdon, center. Th regular players il remaining are: W. A. Goebel and Cooney, guards; Fred Murhpy and Arthur K. Brides, halfbacks: EL H. work Coy, fullback. The greatest wll be to train a quarterback to take Jonea place, and th candidates will he Kilpatrick, fullback, and captain of last years freshman team: Fred Daley, the Andover captain two years ago; Steve Phllbin, substitute halfback last year, and 11, M. Wheaton, also a substitute. Andrus and Hoobs, relegated to the second team last year on account of their studies, will probably tak the places of Bigelow and Paige. Capt Burch will taka Alcott place at right end. Logan or Haines, formerly of Andover, will be on left end. Coy will be back at fullback and Murphy will be one of the halves, with Brides at the other, if he does not go hack to guard Cooney will leave the position of left guard and go to center again.
