It is urged hat the city, if it were to assume control. would be able to improve and extend the system greatly; that it would be able to reduce the water rate to consumers: that it would be able to pay all interest charges on the indebtedness assumed, and that in addition to I; thin it would be able to lay aside in sinking fund a sum sufficient to pay off the bonds when the became due back and bark at those who did? AS a matter of fact the primaries were poorly attended for the same reason that the recent Democratic inarles were not well attended there was no contest to call out the voters. It requires a lively contest for every office to be filled to bring about large primaries. Bill Glasmann was out at his primary in his district some time ago when he wanted to go to the convention as a delegate, when he was preparing to stab A. R, in the back at the state convention. He was not at the last primary for the simple reason that there was nothing in it for Bill Olasmann. If there had been a job or a bit of money in sight for Bill. Bill would havs been on hand. After all in this matter this man is imitating the wisdom of the ostrich he sticks his head into the sand and thinks his whole- - carcass is concealed. His object is not to reform the primaries. He has a venomous hatred against Judge J. A. Howell because the judge refused to have Glasmann dictate his legal opinions for him. Therefore Judge Howell must die. The edict has gone forth; the great I am hath spoken. This is the secret for this pitiful wall for reform. Judge Howell must be crucified. Bill Glasmann, the political guerrilla that he is, lost control of the machinery of his party and could nut control the primarlea Therefore the primaries must be wiped out. Judge Howell could not be defeated for nomination, therefore he must be butchered at the polls. Even now this creature who sets himself up as an example of all that is pure, loyal and holy In polltlca has his dirk on a keen edge to stab his party at the This man who never drew a (tolls. loyal breath; this man who has an utter contempt for ths voters, who would prostitute the primary, the hallo and the, office to the last degree this is the man who now sets himself up as a sort of John the Baptist crying in the wilderness for reform. He may fool a few but fortunately for the community the large majority can see clearly the grinning skull of corruption behind the mask of reform. pri-fu- na-ton- Hey-wo- leu nd 22. 1908. mucus (Continued from Page 1-- To the ) ty, was chosen temporary chairman; Henry W.
