In order to ascertain the truth of the matter a State Journal man called at the offices of the Utah Construction company today and found that the manager, W. H. Wattle, waa abaent In California, and Mr. Ecclea, the president, was out of the city. Warren X Wathtle, secretary of the company, however, stated that the story, so far as his company was concerned, was untrue; that his company never had any money on deposit with the said bank, but that the Western Pacific did use the said bank as a depository and paid often in checks upon that bank, a number of which were received by the company some time ago, which were not cashed upon presentation, but they were promptly taken up by the company Issuing them a short time later. !i Mainly About People H.
