It will be over approximately a ten-mi- le course, the start being made from Charlestown bridge and the course ending at or near Ronton light. Swimmers from several states of the Union. Canada. England and Ireland are entered, and the contest will be a professional one. regardless of amateur regulations. The first prize Is a magnificent cup, to be known as the C. F. swimming chamKing, pionship trophy, which Is valued at several hundred dollars, in addition to which a purse will be given. Money prises will also be awarded the winners of second and third places. Tlie trophy Is donated by C. F. King, the well-knoBoston financial agent. It will be easily possible for the entire population of the city and the thousands of visitors to witness the entire race, as the swimmers will pass In full view of the hundreds of wharves in the upper harbor and along the route taken by the pleasure steamers on their way to the resorts of the lower harbor.
