P. Arnold Jr., on Fifth street. d Carnations in great profusion, with southern smilax were used in ornamenting the rooms. On Wednesday the program was varied, the leading feature being a guessing contest in form of a Literary Love Story. As on the previous day all cut for the prizes, when Mrs. Moore and Mrs. O. J. Cross were the victors. Several soldiers were present from Fort Douglas and recited their experiences in the Philippines, adding greatly to the interest of the evening. ft ft Mrs. Kate Bridewell Anderson gave a recital for her pupils on Tuesday evening. ft ft Mrs. R. Dix entertained informally on Wednesday afternoon in honor of Mrs. Hyram Johnson. ft ft Mrs. F. A Vincent gave two delightful afternoon affairs during the week. The ladies assisting both days, Tuesday and Wednesday were Mrs. Loomis, Mrs. Woodruff, Miss Kimball, Mrs. Richards, Mrs. Boggs, Mrs. Plummer, Mrs. Van Arman, Mrs. Elmer Jones and Mrs. Brattain.
