Last Monday spelling, pronunciation and phonics were discussed. Some dissatisfaction is felt on account of the order of the Board of Education requiring High School boys to participate in the military drill and to provide themselves with uniforms to be worn while thus exercising. A uniform costs considerable, and it is the case with numbers of the students that neither they nor their parents can afford it. It is true that any boy who brings a written request from his parent or guardian will be excused from participating in the drill, but it is a kind of humiliation for a boy, which he should not be subjected to, to be unable to join the drill class because he cannot afford to buy a uniform. mu-sici- Mr. Mathieson of the State Superintendent's office spent several days in Provo recently and delivered a very able address to the class of county graduates there.
