Senator Clyde who resides in Heber City is completing his eighth year of service in the Senate. Mrs. Craig, (Valoy) Campbell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Leavitt was seriously injured when she fell from her horse Sunday while riding with the Uintah Basin Riders in Randlelt. Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Labrum attended the republican convention in Salt Lake last Friday and Saturday. Mrs. Kent Bastian and Darrell accompanied her mother, Mrs. Val McDonald, Altamont to Salt Lake Monday. Brett Hancock, son of Mr. and Mrs. Forrest Hancock, Salt Lake, stopped to visit a while with his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Whiting. Brett was with a group of 35 people from West Jordon Stake to make a river run down the Green River. Mr. and Mrs. Warren Oberhansley and Julie, Price visited during the week with Mr. and Mrs. Charles Crozier. A regional PTA school of instruction will be held August 6, beginning at 7:00 p.m. in the Moon Lake building for all PTA presidents, vice presidents, chair man and others working in the program. The program which is designed to stimulate interest for the coming year will be presented by state PTA president Dixie Nelson of Salt Lake and five state board members. Mr. Giles and his wife both of whom taught in Duchesne, will be leaving soon for their new home in Provo, where Mr. Giles has accepted a position there at Provo high school. In addition to a summer singing program for the youngsters in Duchesne, Mr. Giles has been teaching beginning band students this summer. Duchesne has enjoyed having both Mr. and Mrs. Giles in the school system and hope they enjoy their new home in Provo. -- Elk, antelope moose permits available Open bull elk permits are now on sale through August 9, as are archery Elk. Applications for either sex permits will with the drawing on be due August August 27. Trophies will be given in each outstanding division. Sweepstake trophy will be given to the winner of the most blue ribbons in the home arts division.
