Russia has Germany, Sweden and Japan and other nations will continue to buy the best and most economical chrome in the world from Rhodesia. Somehow I can't get excited about not selling Rhodesia grain, computers, or oil technology which they don't want anyway. But I am concerned about giving away these things to communists who want them very, very much for our destruction. Feb. 1, 1977 the Central Daily Sews reported over a million Chinese and Russian agents operating in schemes not easily detected. They use the free world and encourage media mass rebellion while they disseminate lies and rumors. In a related matter, the Tribune (March 21) reported that Louis Woodcock, true to his 6. previous posture, is using S3 billions of our tax money to bribe Hanoi into being friendly. Hanoi should have a seat in the UN. Our seat! It is appalling that we continue membership in this CCC (Communist and Cannibal Club). Properly viewed, it is not an act of punishment or revenge at the hands of the state. Article I, Section i of the California Constitution posits that All persons are by nature free and independent, and have certain inalienable rights, among which are those of enjoying and defending life and liberty; acquiring, and protecting possessing, property; and pursuing and obtaining safety, happiness and privacy." (Emphasis added) This section unquestionably guarantees the right of the individual citizen to keep and bear arms or whatever tools are necessary to the defense of his property, liberty or life, although our judges pretend not to see it but that is another story! In the interest of law and order, and because most of us are relatively helpless acting alone, we have delegated to the state the right and power, and imposed on it the duty, to defend our lives, liberty and property against crime. Since the state generally cannot be present when a crime is committed and can only act retroactively, the only real defense the state can offer is the positive knowledge in the mind of a would-b- e wrongdoer that, upon being caught, the state will impose upon him a swift and certain and commensurate punishment, just as though the state had been present to impose a force adequate to the defense ofhis victim at the time and place the In legal crime was committed. a constructive defense. language Since an individual may take a life in his own defense, the state may, and must, impose capital punishment as a deferred defense. The concept of punishment as a deferred defense can be clearly seen by viewing the alternative for, to the extent the Cyrus Vance, Secy, of State, state refuses or fails to adequately Under-Secof State in the for crime, its citizens are ad- punish Kennedy-Johnso- n thereby rendered defenseless. y, ministrations, Secy, to International the CFR, Bankers, Trilateral Executive of David Rockefeller, Director of the Rockefeller Foundation, Director of the Hew York Times is the most outrageous appointment since Caligula named his horse Consul on the steps of the Forum and similar in other ways. has Sen. Bartell WASHINGTON. D.C.T (Liberty Lobby News Service) A highly damaging report which implicated the U.S. government in the mass murder of some 100,000 men, women and children in East Timor is about to explode in the faces of our highups. It's sure to taint the "human rights'' stance of President Carter and his top aides. The atrocities and mass murder of people in the former Portuguese territory of East Timor by the financed and forces of General Suharto of Indonesia are nothing really new. Dear Editor: Human Events for March 26. 1977 reports House votes on two important issues. These votes indicate that Gunn McKay voted to repeal the Byrd Amendment and prevent importation of Rhodesian chrome, and that he voted against allocation of 5300,000 of the funding for the Committee on the Judiciary, to conduct investigations of subversives. I do not know who or what Gunn McKay is working for, but it certainly is not for the American people. Sincerely, Howard Finney CHAOTIC EDUCATION Dear Editor: Our education system is in chaos. Our schools are rampant with drugs, violence, and van- dalism. Of course, we know the reason why. Any school system that forbids voluntary prayer cannot succeed. Any school system that has textbooks which ridicule Jesus Christ his virgin birth, resurrection, Coming and Seond will be destroyed. Yes, I agree that we should work from within to change our schools. We must do this in order to change the mess, Another thing we should do is take our children out of these zoos they now call schools. If enough people did this, our educators might get the message. Right now this is against the law. Enclosed you will find an article about my good friend, Barbara Franz and her family. Barbara does not like a school system. She feels she can educate her son at home better than the schools can. I happen to agree with her. She has taken her son out of school. She has been called a neglectful mother for doing this. She has taken her case to court. She recently lost her case in the New York Appelate Court, Barbara wishes to knock down the archaic compulsory education attendance laws. She claims these laws only force a child to attend school. There is little worry whether that child learns or not. The answer to the school mess is get our kids out of schools. We should also work to clean up this shocking school mess. First we must get Bible reading and voluntary prayer back into the schools. God bless you. Sincerely, William Rock Staten Island, NY 10302 |
