Show The Paper That Dares To Take Fruits And Nuts Of Labor Continued from page 4 twice. If he draws wages or a salary, he pays an income tax ranging as high as 85 percent. A worker who earns $15,000 pays fully half to the government in income taxes. But if he keeps what's left of his wages and invests it, the government now wants to sock him again, siphoning off a portion of his savings each year. Like the good Socialist he is, Mr. Wilson claims his "wealth tax" will damage only the hated "rich." But by 1984, at the present rate of inflation, anyone who last year held assets worth $10,000 will be paying a "wealth tax." The . British government, which currently gobbles up 60 percent of the country's national income, would be confiscating everybody's property. Should Britons sit by until the state owns everything, England would become the first nation ever to have taxed and inflated itself into Communism. -- The Review Of The News NURSE PENALIZED FOR REFUSING TO ASSIST AT ABORTIONS The Wanderer, Amid the continuing controversy over abortion laws in Canada, nurse Frances Jean Martin has charged she was demoted at Henderson General Hospital in Hamilton, Ontario because she refusefl to assist at abortions. "The notice was signed some on election day, November 4," said B.Z. Kastler, Mountain Fuel president. "We've said all along this law suit was motivated en- by Horrocks' political am- bitions, and this latest action proves our assessment correct. He files a suit against us, collects all kinds of free publicity, and then on election day after all the possible political mileage has been obtained, he tries to drop us out of the suit. "Well, we do not intend to be dropped. This law suit involves us, and we have a substantial interest in the outcome. Many allegations have been made on the basis of this suit, and we plan to remain a party until a final determination is made by the courts." Kastler noted the "bizarre" circumstances surrounding the en- 1 tire lawfuit and Horrocks' participation in it. He recalled that Mr. HOrrocks called a widely attended press conference not when he filed the suit, but to announce his intention to do so. This was done four days before the primary elections. "After Mr. Horrocks' can-it- s didacy survived the primary, the lawsuit was ultimately riled," tier said, "but Mr. Horrocks and his counsel had difficulty finding time when Horrocks could testify under oath concerning the matter, Horrocks did, however, find plenty of time to campaign on the sup-tim- e posed issues raised by his suit, Throughout he has used press conferences and. other mass com-thmunications media liberally to nounce his every move," Kastler added. "Now, the very day after losing the election, Horrocks. without calling a press conference, issuing a press release, or even making a public explanation to his followers for whom he presents himself as a champion, seeks to drop the entire matter insofar as Mountain Fuel Supply Company is concerned.''
