As criminal activities mount in this country the anti-gu- n lobbies grow more and more vociferous. Those of us who believe in the Constitution formed by our founding fathers seem to be on the defensive much of the time. This is not necessary. It is time we took the offensive and there is only one way to do it. We must write and talk from a position of principle. The second amendment is an outgrowth of a principle established by God in the Decalogue. God established the right to life with His commandment: . Thou shalt not kill. (Exodus 20: 1 3) This principle was so firmly established in theminds of the signers of the Declaration of Independence that they put it this way: We hold these truths to be that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life The Right to Life is giv$n to us by God, our Creator, and with this right the concomitant right to use defensive force to protect our life. Killing, or murder, is the use of aggressive force. This act. is forbidden by God. Since man is the creator of government, it is impossible for him to delegate authority to government which he does not have from God. Since mans rights are inherent, from self-evide- nt, servants in government to help him protect his life. liberty and property.
