Show t A ' The Paper That Dares To Take i A Stand April 10, 1975 The Utah 1 Continued from page I a 1 .. WHAT MARVIN COOLEY MEANS TO ME By Lowell Anderson Marvin Cooley means to me strength and dedication that all American Patriots should feel in the battle for freedom. His dedication has shown me the way honorable men should stand up for the true principles of freedom that are our heritage. His strength has given me the strength to meet the challenge, to overcome the fear of despotism and to will myself free. His devotion to the true principles of freedom has been an inspiration unmatched by any experience of my lifetime, causing a great change in my person and bringing me back to the realities of true living. To me Marvin Cooley is the bulwark of the patriotic movement. Patriots strengthened with the inspiration received from him will hasten to the battle in order to make sure that his going to jail is not. in vain. Marvin's d oratory will live in the hearts of men for generations to come and the truth of which he spoke will be the club that beats the tyrants into the ground. Marvin came along when America needed a Marvin Cooley, and now that he has shown us the way, let us make sure that when Marvin comes back to us, he has a better America to live in. I owe much to Marvin Cooley, much more than I can ever repay, and I will work the rest of my life standing for the things that Marvin Cooley stands for.' I know for sure if George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Samuel Adams and Patrick Henry were here, standing on this earth today, and Marvin Cooley was among them, he would not be diminished in stature by the company he was with, but he would stand as tall as the tallest, for there is no greater American Patriot than the one, Marvin ; V .1 ,i I Judge Lowell Anderson is president of the Wyoming full time to the same cause of Constitutional limited government for which Marvin Cooley was unlawfully convicted. :i s V. Hughes Patrick Henry said in 775. It is natural to man to indulge in the illusion of hope. We are apt to shut our eyes against the painful truths and listen to the song of that siren us into she transforms til beasts.. ..Are we disposed to be among the number of those who have eyes, see not, and having ears, hear not the things which so nearly concern our salvation. For my part, whatever the anguish of spirit it may cost. I am willing to know the whole truth to know the worst and provide for it. The intelligence assessment says that the two most powerful Communists in Cambodia are Khieu Samphan, the Commander-in-chie- f of all insurgent forces, and of Saloth Sar, Secretary-Generthe Cambodian Communist Party. Both men are under the control of the North Vietnamese Communist government which is supplying their insurgent forces with Soviet and Chinese arms, according to U.S. intelligence officials. His argument is that since the U.S. will have to be working with Russia in the coming Geneva conference that this is not time to change our policy toward Moscow. Kissinger says the same argument holds for Peking in Southeast Asia. Congress and not Moscow or Peking is the big problem for the Administration in foreign policy in Kissingers view. At a recent White House meeting Kissinger retorted: At times. I believe we have better relations with the Russians and Chinese than Congress. Faced with more foreign policy problems than he can now handle. President Ford is expected to go along with Kissinger and keep the foreign policy review limited to the Middle East and Southeast Asia.
