I'l-t- t Mass Meeting Called On State Highway Problem A mass meeting of the citizens of Pleasant Grove has been called for Monday evening at 8 p. m. in the High School Auditorium to protest the changing of the State Highway through Pleasant Grove and to discuss the problem thoroughly from all angles. All citizens are urged to be present. Petitions have been signed by many business men and prominent residents of this city asking the State Road commission to keep the State Highway on its present route thru the city. The sharp turn at the head of Main street can be modified by moving the bank and drug store and using the parking spaces that are planted to lawns, as a part of the highway. It is pointed out. The sidewalks would be wide enough without the parking area. With telephone and electric light poles placed at property lines or in back yards the street could be made wide enough to accommodate traffic. By placing a viaduct over the rail-rjaon the northwest side of the city the road could be made a permanent one. Pleasant Grove citizens arc investigating this proposed move thoroughly before allowing this road to be started. The State Road Commission hag given the citizens of Pleasant Grove a short time to thoroughly investigate the plan and state llieir opinion which necessitates the calling of the ma's meeting. Pleasant Grove should not sleep on their rights but dig into the matter and secure the best route and road possible. As can readily be seen now is the time for everyone to get busy and have the matter lined up and all leasable routes investigated and considered. ds Harvey Motor Company Pur- chases Building Pleasant Grove Locals Spring Festival To be Given by j Serious Extent of Soil Erosion XflfS..
