Tryouts for the team were held one week ago and practice has been going since Monday. The first game on the preseason schedule is November 20th, when the Miners will play Escalante here at T.H.S. The first league game is scheduled for January 3, against Wendover on our home floor. A schedule of all the games can be from most team members or from the office. On the other side of sports at T.H.S., the crosscountry team ran their last race of this season October 26th. The race was held at Highland High School in Salt Lake. The team, Coach Palmer, and Mr. Haney spent Friday night in Salt Lake and attended the 2.5 mile race on Saturday. Tintic placed 8th out of 14 teams. The Juniors began play in week this practice preparation for the annual Junior Play on November 26th. Tickets will be on sale soon by most of the Juniors. The teachers are involved in a workshop so students are dismissed early on every other Monday. This should prove beneficial to both teachers and students. Your T.H.S. Senior Citizens hold annual Halloween party Senior Citizens Young at Heart group celebrated at a Halloween Party last Friday evening. Loren Thompson gave the opening prayer, and a pot luck dinner was served to 40 people who attended. Many of the members came in costumes, and from what one hears, some of them were really something, at least they gave the members a good laugh, and that is what Halloween is for, lots of fun and spooky costumes. The evening was spent in dancing, and a variety of games, which were enjoyed by all. Card of Thanks I Tintic High School, Eureka Elementary and the Tintic West District school combined with 190 students from the Nebo school District enjoyed one of the 52 performances to be given this school year by Ballet West. To a packed Gym holding approximately 500 students and adults, October 25, (Friday). Ballet West demonstrated the Arts of Ballet, by simulating warm up, practice, and instruction sessions for Ballet Mental sunshine can be a great tonic.
