"Over Min Century in Springville" ' your 1982 power needs. When the switch is thrown on a new power plant for the first time, it's a significant event both for Utah Power and for power users. And, to appreciate what the event means fully, you have to look back eight years ...because thats the average time it takes to plan, get approvals, design and construct a plant like the new four hundred and thirtv thousand kilowatt generating unit at Huntington. t In fact, after a site with enough water and coal is selected, three years are needed just for the environ mental studies and regulatory approval. The next five years are spent designing and constructing the plant. So today, Utah Power engineers and planners are designing generating capacity of an additional two million kilowatts that we will need hv 1982. Thats a staggering increase compared to the 1,783,000 kilowatt capacity the company has todav. And since youre a customer, you have a right to know that Utah Power has very precise planning underway to meet your power needs in the years ahead. |
