Do you This article was taken from the Mining Centennial edition of the Eureka Reporter, published Oct. 25, 1963 1 For a few years in the earlier days of the Tintic District, Eureka was haunted by the woman in black. She would step out of the shadows into the paths of some woman and peer into her face, never saying a word. After practically scaring the woman to death, she would fade away, and in many cases the woman would fade too" (into the nearest house). This went on for many months and finally very few of the ladies of the town would venture out alone after dark. It always seemed a mystery to the townspeople as to why she was never apprehended and jailed, but she would always escape. After reducing most of the female population into hysterics for months, she disappeared and was never heard from again. Who she was, or what became of her was never known. Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Erickson and their grandchildren, Stephen, Scott, Sharel, Donald and Johnnie Lunt drove to Nephi Friday evening where they enjoyed the Rodeo and the parade. Moreover, these passenger figures do not include the sub- stantial growth in small trucks and other vehicles which may be used by many families as second or third cars. To accomodate this increase Rain ends long in the dry spell Finally the rains came! After days and days of no moisture, it was most welcome.
