Mary Ann and Ron served tasty Young at Heart Senior Citizens Young at Heart group met last Wednesday in the Legion Hall in Goshen. President Sterl Laird presided, and also led the Salute to the Flag. God Bless America was sung by the members, with Bessie Toone conducting. The minutes of the last meeting were read by Secretary Clara Bates, and the Treasurers report was given by Treasurer Loren Thompson. Georgia Laird won the blanket given away by the group, and a report on the sick list was given: Ella Sand-strowas reported to be in the hospital, Owen Horton had been released from the hospital, and the group received a Thank You card from him, and one from Wilma Jasperson. Cards and Bingo provided the guests, and Elmo Boswell gave the opening prayer and the blessing on the dinner. A delicious dinner was served to 68 guests. After a dinner a skit entitled "A Touch of Heaven was presented by Jackie Griggs, Clara Bates, Bethine Needles, Alice Peart, Joan Dale and Myrna Garbett, with Jackie Griggs directing. Also participating was Earlean Gear and Grace Chatwin. The serving committee consisted of Clara Bates, Mary Garbett, Leona Bray, Earlean Gear, Florence Garbett, and Myrna Garbett, with Georgia Laird and Celestia Thompson on the decorating committee. A special tribute was paid to Joan Morris, the retiring Relief Society President. Benediction was given by David Garbett. afternoons entertainment, and the house prize was won by Hank Bates. Mrs. Bates read a letter on the Conference on Aging, with the regional meeting to be held in Denver, date to be announced later. Hostesses for the meeting were Eva Cook and Delia White and served 27 present. Gertrude Hannifin announced that the bus will go to the Ice Follies on April 29 for the 10:30 show in the morning. For reservations please call her not later than April 1. Ladies of Elks Ladies of Elks met in regular session on Tuesday evening of this week. President Helen Wall opened the meeting, and first on the agenda for the meeting was the election of officers, as follows: President, Mary vice president, Alliene Farren, secretary, Helen Wall; treasurer, Deanna Sorensen. The retiring president, Helen Wall, extended congratualtions to the incoming officers. After the business of the evening and the election was concluded, a social evening was enjoyed, with Bridge furnishing the diversion. High score was won by Alliene Farren, 2nd, Mary Schow and raffle, Margaret Harkins. Jean Giles was hostess for the Schow; Relief Society Touch of Heaven was the theme selected last Saturday evening when the Relief Society members and their partners commemmorated the 130th anniversary of the founding of the Relief Society. A Relief Society president, Myrna Garbett greeted the served tasty evening and refreshments. Plans were finalized for the Grand Visitation, which will be at a special meeting, Monday, March 27.
