Show INTER-M- O reaches east to the Ferris peak, a half-mi- le east of the Crystal mine. John brothers Ferris and two of the Neilsen have made a location on the north side of the peak on the quartzite reef , and it is the same carbonate lead ore as the Crystal mine and in an open cut of ten feet, stripping the foot wall, they vein in place, showhave a three-foof lead, and ing good ore in carbonatesis the vein widening as work done on it. Another claim of the Neilsen Brothers. the South Antelope, is a fifty-fovein running north and south evidently on line of the Deer Trail reef south of the Cottonwood creek, that showed a fine body of lead carbonate and some very fine gray carbonate lead ores. Geppa Neilsen and his son, James, have the Storm King, north of the South Antelope, that shows vein of open ore, resting on a granite foot wall, of the Deer Trail quartz, showing that the old man made no mistake in saying that the Deer Trail' vein crossed the Cottonwood creek. State Line District- Pioche Record: Mr. C. O. Newell has been hustling for a week or more past getting things in shape to do some hard knocks on his claims in State Line. Ceil is very highly elated over the outlook, and if the developments meet half his expectations, he will have a good thing. He has had some very fine assays, and left Tuesday afternoon, taking with him tents, tools, provisions and several men, and will do considerable development work to find out what is there. If it goes down at all like the croppings indicate It will be a hummer. All that is needed is some capital and hard work to make a great camp at State Line. IDAHO. Idaho World: B. R. L. Poston and Oliver Reuben, at work a short distance below the Cold Springs for Rioe, Bixby & Askew, who will put in a dredge to work the McDowell placer ground, called on the World yesterday. The company expects the machinery in Boise next Friday, and will have it up and running in about two weeks. Mr. Poston says if the company makes a success they will put in six or eight more machines on both sides of the basin this fall. The machine works on the principle of a steam shovel, but instead of a shovel grapplers are used. When the grappler is spread it is six feet one inch long. The grapplers close when they are driven into the ground and lift up all the gravel over three inches in diameter. The rock is washed and tossed aside. The small gravel and sand are raised with a pump. The company will have a force pump, with which, Mr. Poston says, they will have power for working with a hose and pipe, when necessary, that will equal Plowmans hydraulic, which has a pressure of 200 feet They can get a pressure with their force pump of 100 pounds per square inch.
