Show yet, but have found a deposit with several tons in sight which runs 75 per cent copper. William Gagon received an assay this week from ore that came from his discovery on the other side of Browns park, which went $12.40 in gold, 6 per cent lead and a trace of silver. Mr. Gagon is very enthusiastic over his prospects and thinks the new camp will turn out to be a bonanza, and we hope he will strike it rich, for if there is any qne we would like to see prosper it is bur friend George. IDAHO. Boise County. Idaho City correspondence Boise Statesman: M. H. Jacobs, who bought the New York mine a short time ago, passed through this place yesterday on his way to Montana, and will not return for about two weeks. Mr. Jacobs says that he has secured some very rich ore, and that he hopes to very soon develop a rich free gold mine. The company that originally worked the property spent all their energies on a porphyry dyke that runs with the vein, or cuts it at an angle. Two men are at work in the mine. Three placer claims ten miles south of Van Wyck, in Long valley, have commenced work. They were opened last year, and found to be good properties. One claim has started up below the lakes, and those at Copeland will soon begin operations. Irwin & Carpenter are working a placer claim ten miles northwest of Banner, on the south fork of Payette river. Twenty miles below Calderwood & Co. have been placer mining and say their clean-u- p was good. Ore for a crushing is now coming out of the Lucky Boy, which is situated half a mile east of the Illinois, and on the same vein. When the crushing is made the long tunnel will be extended to the ore chute, which it will develop at the depth of about 400 feet. However that may be, the people of Caldwell are anxious to see the mines developed, and will contribute generously to that end. Shoshone County. Coeur dAlene Miner: The Morning mill is running steadily on full time, concentrating Morning and You Like ores. Both mines are showing up well. The Bunker Hill and Sullivan is running full time both at the mine and mill at present and shipping live cars of concentrates daily. The Campbell tunnel at the Standard is now run in about 2000 feet. The new ore bins are progressing well. The Last Chance at Wardner is working about 100 men and the mill is turning out a car of concentrates per day. Coeur dAlene Sun: The Arizona high placer company fired another powder drift on Monday at noon. There were 400 pounds of powder. The drift was 22 feet, and the bank was 100 feet high. The massive wall of gravel and bowlders broke very satisfactorily. As the company has been getting six reservoirs full of water a day the dirt is nearly washed away already. The comthis pany will make a good clean-u- p are as year, they getting away with a considerable slice of ground. Owyhee County. Silver City Avalanche: The rich chute of ore in the Trade Dollar described in these columns last week, continues strong, and insures a long, prosperous career for the property. Assays run as high as 3800 ounces in silver and $400 in gold not of picked specimens, either. The Boonville has long been recognized as one of the very best properties in Owyhee, but even the most enthusiastic were unprepared for the remarkably rich developments being made every day at this property. The drift from the lower crossuct (Black Jack) has cut an immense chute of ore, the vein being nearly ten feet in width of solid ore of high milling value, to say nothing of a big streak of ore which assays nearly $10,000 per ton. No stoping is being done, yet the ore taken out in everything up running drifts has piled result. Work is the ore blockade and an on the new mill is being pushed as rapidly as possible. It will have a capacity of eighty tons per day. Idaho County. d Grangeville Free Press: George Florence arrived from Warrens via Tuesday, with a bar of bullion valued at $1500, the proceeds of five tons of ore extracted from the lower drift of the Little Giant mine. This is some of the richest ore ever taken from the mine, NEVADA. and the extent of the chute has not yet been reached. INTER-MOUNTAI- N of marvelous richness. The owners have the Bimetallic and Granite mines at a the great depth. There is 350 feet of not tunnel to be built. Mr. Fusz does say so, but it is generally thought as soon as the tunnel is completed both great companies will start their works in full blast. This is great news for Granite, Phillipsburg and.
