Mahler and trouble will be experienced when the Rio Grande Western Railway company attempts to reach the Simmons Hardware company's warehouse with its spur on Wall avenue, even though the council grants them a franchise, as they will be compelled to make arrangements with the Oregon Short Line company to run on Its track, which Is already In front of the Simmons Hardware company's storehouse. From all appearances there seems to be a slight misunderstanding In the matter. and therefore the Short Line has ditched a box car at the very place on the Short Line track where the Rio Grande intends to tap the former road, so that it will be Impossible to make any connection until the Rio Grande comes to terms with the Short Line. FTom all appearances It seems to be optional with the Short Line whether the Rio Grande company will secure any of the Simmons Hardware company's business. The whole trouble seems to have arisen over the fact that the Rio Grande has been somewhat haaty in making the application for a franchise before consulting with the Short Line regarding track rights. It is a question of whether or not the Rio Grande is willing to pay the regular $3 per car switching charge, aa It does in other sejilons where the Harriman roads control the warehouse tracks. A .
