The Oregon Short Line baseball team yesterday avenged their recent defeat at the hands of the Mound Fort boys by defeating the latter to the tune of 11 to 5. The game was faster than the score would Indicate and replete with splendid playa The feature of the game was the pitching of Lund for the Short Line catch by Maguire of and a the same team. Poulsen of the Mound Fort team caught a splendid game and the batting of De Lameter was above the ordinary. The Short Line boys have defeated all of the stronger teams in the city and claim the amateur championship, which they are ready to defend against OB- n: OLD FOLKS' EXCURSION. Pioneers to the Number of About 8ix Hundred Went to Lagoon This Morning. The Weber county old folks excur-lao- n left the Union depot for Lagoon at 9:30 this morning.
