The annual dosing exercises of the School for the Deaf and Blind were held in the chapel of that institution this morning. The program, which was ably prepared by the corps of teachers, was a treat to every one of the people who attended. It is, without a doubt, worth any persons's time to witness such exercises and note the seemingly impossible accomplishments of Mr. and Mrs. Drlggs and their untiring force of teachers. Teaching a little deaf boy or girl to read and converse with his fellow playmates or a boy or girl, who is totally blind, how to read and write intelligently are some of the accomplishments at this school. The exercises were opened with a prayer by Hon. F. W. Chambers. Several splendid musical and literary selections by the pupils of the school were among the numbers on the program. The speech and language demonstrations by Miss Krause and Miss Eddy and their classes were appreciated and enjoyed. Samples of the work done in the school room and shops are on exhibition in the chapel hall. The work consists of various articles of needle work by the young ladies, among them being hammocks, wearing apparel, rugs and carpets, also exhibits of cookery. From the shops comes the wood work, leather goods and tools made by the young men. The drawing and writing work and reflect additional credit on work and reflect additional credit to the tutors and the little pupils. An exhibit which is attracting considerable attention is a miniature locomotive which stands about three feet in length y and one foot high. It is perfect in detail and was made by a young man named Hadlock, who was killed while In the employ of the Southern Pacific company since his graduation from the school. The work for the year has been completed and the students will return to their homes for a summer vacation Embroidery and Lace Sale The narrow Laces, Edges and Beadings are sslling for 1e to per yard. A audience witnessed the first performance of vaudeville at Glenwood last evening, and were entertained by an excellent company of performera If, the park company will continue the production of shows such as that of last night the pavilion will undoubtedly be packed every evening. Stodd and Will, musical specialists, do some very good word. Howard Morris Is certainly a wonderful whistler. His work in this line ranks with the best. Sawtelle and Bears, the dancing sisters, never fall to make a hit They have some elegant new costumes that set their work off to good advantage. La Croix, the eccentric Juggler, is probably the best ever seen here. His work received hearty applause. Bates and Eanest in their comedy act, are mirth provokers of a high class. Their stunt consists of about the cleanest comedy on the vaudeville stage. Heath and Excels are a pair of very clever Jugglers and Mr. Rhibiey's illustrated song, Down on the Farm, received a hearty encore. Dancing follows the show and is continued until 11:30 each evening. falr-six- Cures ed AT UTAHNA PARK. The theater at Utahna Park is already coming to the front with rapid strides and ranks favorably with any vaudeville house in the state. The performers are of the best class and very amusing. A splendid bill is being presented this week. Last night's performance wfts of a high order. The performers of this week are even better than those of last, which Is saying a great deal. In spite of the many other attractions the resort enjoyed a fair attendance last night THE LYCEUM. This popular theater is also drawing exceedingly well for this time of th year and their bills are not lacking in quality either.
