John Kaln and William Moore, two prisoners being held at the county Jail for trial, made their escape at the dinner hour yesterday, and although diligent search has been made for them they are still at liberty. Deputy Cave supplied the men with y their usual meal and at that time all were fn their cells and everything appeared to be as secure as usual. They endeavored to head off the fugitives at the Hot Springs, but it Is believed that they must have passed there before the arrival of the officers. He was arrested and held here on a charge of entering John Beltser's Jewelry store on Grant avenue. He was at one time donflned In the Ohio penitentiary at Columbus and attacked and stabbed a guard there, for which he was sentenced for life, but was subsequently released. Following are the descriptions of the men:: John Caine Aged 87 years; weight; 197 pounds; height. 5 feet 514 Inches; blue eyes, brown hair, medium complexion; three lower teeth gone, full round face; on right arm Is tatoo of clasped hands and on left arm cross, heart and anchor. William Moore Aged 27 years; height, 5 feet 7 Inches; weight, 141 pounds; dark complexion, brown eyes, straight nose, scar over right eye, one upper tooth gone. Both men . wore dark felt hats, checkered Jumpers and overall. mid-da- Frederick R. Brewster, father of Frederick D. Brewster, a machinist In thfe employ of the Southern Pacific company, suddenly dropped dead yesterday afternoon. Mr. Brewster had not been complaining of any and his death haa come aa a surprise and a great shock to the bereaved relatives He had taken a walk before dinner and seemed to be In the best of health. At the. dinner table he was in the best of spirits when suddenly he fell forward and died almost Instantly. Frederick R. Brewster was an old and respected citlsen both In this and Salt Lae City. He was 87 years of age and came to this country In the year 1861 from Wolverhampton, England, and Immediately settled at Salt Lake, where he remained up to eight years ago, when he came to Ogden and took up a residence with his son at 128 Tracey avenue. LYNCH.- - OGDENONE Succumbed to Hia Injuries at the Hospital at 8 OClock Saturday Night. Monday, June 6 2 P. Edward F. Lynch, the pole man who was so seriously Injured by the falling of a pole on Saturday, died at the Ogden general hospital at 8 o'clock Saturday night The Injured man never regained consciousness. Funeral services over the remains of the deceased were conducted this afternoon and were largely attended. There were many expressions of deep sympathy for the bereaved widow and child.
