The somewhat stagey and spectacular state convention of the Republican party of Utah is now being pulled off in the Salt Lake theater. So far it's cut and dried, perfunctory and harmonious. No notes of discord have so far cropped out to mar the serenity of the occasion, and if there is any gore spilled it will be this afternoon by the Salt Lake delegation over the selection of delegates to the national convention. As for the county delegates from the different parts of the state most of them are going around with large chunks of harmony under their arms. They appear to be willing to swallow slate and all without a wry face or secretaries: L. R. Anderson and A. J. Storky, sergeants-at-armG. C. Collister, chaplain. Then the mayor of Ogden spoke. His talk was of his usual characteristic spellbinding order. He claimed everything in sight for the G. O. P. and predicted all kinds of success. His talk was warmly received by the conven- ance of Senator Gorman and It was ST. I'lCTERSHURG. April 8.
