Justice of the Peace Warrington Robinson yesterday Issued a lot of John Doe warrants to Sheriff Rutan to be used as he sees fit. The sheriff says that Governor Peabody ordered the militia to Telluride on condition that the agitators,, Idlers and 'trouble breeders be driven from the camp,' and that he will use the blanket warrants to accomplish this result. The union leaders regard the action of the justice as an Invasion of their rights. About fifty miners are working on the Tom Boy property, but no attempt will be made to resume work at any other mines until the Tom Boy has secured a full force of miners and mllmen. Thirty-eigminers were taken Into custody, soldiers accompanying the deputy sheriffs and assisting In making the arrests. Twenty of the prisoners were discharged by Justice Robinson. Sixteen others were fined $15 each for vagrancy and two were assessed $85 each on the same charge. One man was fined $5 for contempt of court. The sentences, except in the contempt cases, were suspended until 2 p. m. They are there yet, but only one of them, the Dexter, of forty stamps, is running and that Is treating custom ore. Like many old camps, Tuscarora has had in Infusion of new blood and consequently is taking on new life. Mr. Huaaey and his associates, nearly all of whom are Ogden people, took hold of the about two years ago and have been steadily developing it ever since. At present six men are employed and work will be kept up all winter. They have one Incline down ninety feet and a cross-cof a hundred feet and are now In stop-ln- g ground. In a drift beyond the stope they have gone seventy feet in ore that has a pay streak from four to sixteen inches wide which Is expected to open a new ore body.. They do not know, however, whether the cut la to be all on the price of coal, all on the freight rate, or both. The railroad officials have been advised of no change In the freight rate, and consequently everything le uncertain until the arrival of Mr. Stubbs. Another point to be settled Is whether the company will refund the excess amounts paid while the price was boosted. Now If Harriman, on the recommendation of his traffic director, makes a further cut, there la no telling how the trouble may end.
