A very pleasant party was held at the New Jersey academy last Friday evening, at which cake, and other refreshments were served, and music and similar pastimes were enjoyed. Smith on the excellent appointments of the academy. Bliss Lavinia Shaw of Logan First ward died Sunday morning pf dropsy and other complications. She was aged 62 years, and patne to Logan several years ago from Alabama. She been en invalid during the greater part of her life. lfei! only known relatives are two nieaes, Miss Ada Turner of Bcxburg and Bliss Josie Turner of Chicago. The deceased was a devout and faithful Latter day Saint, and showed great fortitude during her suffotiug. Mr. and Mrs. John A. and daughter Irene reached home Sunday, after an enjoyable visit covering four months m the west and north. They covered the Pacific coast from Los Angeles to Canada, the last two or three weeks being spent with Mr. Hendrickson's brother in Utica, Montana. feeling They return home thoroughly rested and much improved in health. While absent they assisted the missionaries in holding meetings in all the large cities they visited, and Mrs. Hendrickson addressed a largely attended street meeting in Los Angeles.
