Jakeman, Manager. re-se-lpt CONTINUAL CHANGE IS NOT GOOD Republican candidates for the nest state legislature are now grooming themselves and posting their friends not to menupon their tion their power of brain and persuasive eloquence. There can scarcely be any question but in the main the per sonnel of the next house of representatives will be materially changed, thus bringing In a new set of ideas relating to legislation which may or may not be crystallzed into law. This may be al right, as in the multitude of council there is to be found wisdom. There is ' oue thing, however, which bad better be approached with care, and that is the election of a United Slates Senator. Change for the mere sake of change Is of more than doubtful wisdom. Since statehood was obtained, no man has fullowed himself in the same branch of the national legislature with the sole exception of Judge King in the house, and his second term had a year between. As Republicans, we cannot but think that this constant changing is detrimental to the best interests of the state. Though the change from a Democratic to a Republican congressional delegation is always in order. It is always right for any citixen to aspire to the higher positions in the .gift of the state, yet when to gratify that ambiton, means that the best interests of the people are to be put in danger, the experiment is one of questionable wisdom. Take the case of Senator Kearns. Last week this paper gave a list of what lie accdfilpTished In Washington when he was comparatively a stranger. The list is one which the people must be gratified to see, no matter to which political party they may belong. How much more could the Senator accomplish in the second term, now that he has become acquainted and formed those combinations and laid the wires which must be laid to wail: effectually in the nation's capital. Utah has need of many more favors at the hands of the government, and we should keep the man i to-wl- .2. .Thence north 33 deg. 34 min. west "00 feet to corner Na 3 of Anaconda Jo. 2. north 41 deg. 38 min east feet to eorner Na 4 of Anaconda 2.
