Hendricks to Conduct Preliminary Hearing on December 18 and Postponement of the Case Over the Statutory Limit of 12 Days Cause of Dismissal Employment of a large number of Ogden men in the construction of the huge pipe line to carry natural gas from Wyoming into Utah was prom ised the city commission Wednesday by L. B. Denning, president of the newly acquired Ogden Gas company & Coke company of and the Utah-GaSalt Lake. Although a large number of Ogden men will be employed in the very near future, actual construction out of Ogden would not start until about February 15, it was stated. The frost in the ground, reported to be about 8 inches deep, will not hinder the huge ditchers, according to L. Fitzpatrick, line foreman, who, with J. D. Roberts, manager of distribution, accompanied Mr. Denning to Ogden. The plan, as sketched by Mr. Denning, provides for the laying of an pipe from the gas fields south of Rock Springs in Baxter Basin, Wyoming, a distance of about 120 miles to Coalville. Here the main line forks, one line of pipe going down Weber canyon to Ogden and the other of pipe going down Emigration canyon to Salt Lake. To serve the residents of Davis county and provide an emergency supply for Ogden or Salt Lake, a line will installed between Ogden and Salt Lake, he said. Each joint of the huge pipe will be electrically welded, making a continuous line from the gas fields to Utah homes. The construction department places the date for delivery of gas at August first, although it is hoped by the company officials to complete the gigantic task before that time. Eighty carloads of pipe have been shipped, 10 of which will arrive in Salt Lake this week, according to Mr. Den-ning. Earl L. H John T.
