Tuesdays game was all Thomas, for Lefty outlasted hia opponent, Lefty Cottey of Tueblo to win out in the seventh and eight innings. In only one inning could Pueblo find Thomas delivery for more than one hit. t Marion Thomas opened for the Crickets with a single into left field and was sacrificed to second by Matt Donohue. Fala Hetherty drew a pass and the stands howled for Extra Base Ilarvel to do his stuff. Given this lead, Thomas was invincible in the first of the ninth, aryl Pueblo went out in this manner. Riley popped to Heatherly. Wana grounded out, James to Henry. Tierney singled, but Washburn hoisted an easy fly to Donohue for Hie final out. Thomas in Form Tommy served notice on Puddlers in the very first inning that it was his day. Bloodgood grounded out to start Iho game, but Knothe singled and Riley was walked. Then Wano worked the count to three balls and one strike, but Marion came back and fanned him. Then Tierney flied out and Tommy had escaped a bad hole. Then in the next three innings Tommy fanned Fuller, Cottey, Bloodgood, Riley and Wano, again to raise his tal of strikeouts to six. In the last five innings Thomas gave the Puddlers but three hits, one each in the fifth, sixth and ninth innings. Marion won the game last Sunday ibtyed with Des Moines, the score to 8. In this game as in other games dur- wing 9 ing the season, he has not only shown his prowess as pitcher but also as a batter.. Adams Going Good With Milwaukee Spencer Adams, who is playing with the Milwaukee baseball club, has been shifted from second base to the shortstop position and is making good in his new position, according to reports in the Milwaukee papers. One of the papers reports that Spencer showed nis' liking for the change by making three hits in five times at bat in the first game after the shift The manager states that Spencer will have a much wider fielding range in the shortstop position than he had at second and that he has a better arm than the former man who held down this position. The shift was made about the middle of May, and since that time Spencer has been playing high class balL In the last eleven games he has hit safely in ten of them, making 17 hits in 38 rimes at bat with a percentage of .447. hod thrown at the targets.
