OGDEN HITS OLD STRIDE AT CONVENTION CITY The past week Ogden hit its old time stride as host, when the Utah Canners association held its seventeenth "annual convention here. The sessions of the meeting and entertainment features were held in the beautiful Hotel Bigelow, which, although was not completed, proved its ability in taking care of the visitors. The canners and visitors for ' last weeks convention were unanimous in their verdict that Ogden is a real convention city and know how to entertain. In a very few weeks the new hotel will be thoroughly completed and ready for the summer and its conven-- . tiona. In June there will be the Utah Den- tists in convention and later that month will be the convention of the United Commercial Travelers for the states of Utah, Idaho and Montana. tThe first three days in August will see the three days of the American Legion state encampment in Ogden. There are a number of organizations of the state and interrnountain district scheduled to hold their meetings in the city during the summer months. With the rejuvenation of the old time apirit of hospitality awakened in Ogden, it seems that now is the opportune time for us to continue the march of progress. The secret of Portland' (Oregon) great progress was due to the fact that the city went after the conventions. The visitors that came for the various conventions either remained or returned very shortly thereafter to make the city their home. Ogden ia no exception to the rule. If we get the visitors here and let them see the march of progress now on, the canyons, nnd environs, together with a climate that compares favorably with Florida or California, we know they will stay. Lets carry on. Revive the Harvest Festival and Fashion show, the old time carnival and the county fair and other amusements. Opportunity is now knocking at Ogdens door. Over 1000 Attend the 0. II. C.
