These are the figures issued by George A. Scott, regional livestock statistician for the U. S. department of agriculture. The increase in pure bred dairy herds in the state is in a great measure due to the movement started in Weber county about ten years ago to build up the dairy herds with imported pure breds. The statistics issued by Mr. Scott are as follows: This compilation shows that on January 1, 11)25, there were 507,000 in Utah and on January 1, 1927, this meeting in Plain City. There are 6,000 less horses in Utah now than in 1925, the count having been 110,000 in 1925 and 104,000 in 1927.
