I can definitely see a Stale Championship in the near lutuies especially wnh athletes like lient Hooper and Danila Rust running all 11 1 know il ' i See va lulei ' FIRST PLACE AT REGIONAL MEET: Oak Hills Elementary students Christopher Black, Curtis Reed, and " David Williams won for their group media presentation "Smallpox Tragedy to Triumph Reed captures first place at 1997 Regional History Fair Cari Lyn Reed, BOUNTIFUL sixth grader at Valley View Elementary, won first place in the Individual Media Presentation category, intermediate division of the Regional History Fair held recently at Weber State University. a Reeds winning presentation, titled Struggle for Equality, Victory for Justice: The Desgregation of Schooling, traced the history of school desegregation in the South. She now will compete at the State History Fair on Thursday, April 17 in Provo. Can Lyn is the daughter of Gary and Marilyn Reed. The theme of this year's competition was Triumph a multi-medi- and Tragedy. First place winners in the Group Media Presentation category, primary division, were Oak Hills filth graders Christopher Black, Curtis Reed, and David Willliams; sons of Craig and Carolyn Black, Gary and Reed, and Dee and Marilyn Roxanne Williams. Their unique a presentation was tilled Smallpox: Tragedy to Triumph, in which they traced the tragic trail of smallpox to its eradication. SUPER SPELLERS HONORED: The Boulton Elementmy Spelling Bee winners include Sarah Broom, Shannon Israelson, Anne Morrison, Patricia Hammerland, Trent Vanalfen, Matt Naegle, Kristi Davis Megan Petersen, and Aimee Hood The school winner was Kristi Davis multi-medi- 19 students participate in Geo. Bee FARMINGTON HISTORY FAIR WINNER: Can Lyn Reed recently won the Regional History Fair competition at Weber State University for work on segrega tion in the schools in the South Nineteen elementary and junior high students from the Davis School District have qualified for the state finals of the National Geography Bee, held on April 4 at the SCERA Arts Center in Orem. The finalists include: Tommy Haslam, Adelaide Elementary; Jeff Bountiful Elementary; Spehar, Kristine Muir Whipple, Elementary; Charles Harmon, Mueller Park Junior High; Adam Stoddard, South Davis Junior High; Mitchell Tolman Sturges.
