THE EASY WAY TO LEARN AND PLAY MUSIC Thornock will be among a host of speakers at the Great American Sports, Health and Fitness Expo 97 at the Salt Palace March 1 and 2. President of Danmar Health Corp., Kaysville, and author of nearly a dozen books and workbooks, including Lean & Free 2000 Plus, Thomock says Americans are not only overweight but a third can be classified as obese. What this means for US. health in the decades to come, she says, is a variety of health problems, including chronic fatigue, diabetes in epidemic proportions, a big increase in depression already a and many major health problem other diseases associated with diet and fitness, even an increase in poor eyesight, Thomock, who has been lecturing for more than a decade throughout Utah and across America, has helped thousands of people develop what she calls a healthy, high energy body instead of a fatstoring body. My educational program aims at reducing stress, a major cause of fat storage, through intelligent eatnot dieting, moderate exering cise and a thorough understanding of how our body works, she said. Its a family program designed to help everyone. Theres an exercise program for everybody, from the athletic personality to the elderly nursing home resident Exercise simply has to be tailored to the individual. Inside millions of overweight Americans, who look in the mirror and think they are ugly ducklings, are beautiful people who are just waiting to be let free, she said. Thornock herself is a real demonstration that her program works. A chubby 204 pounds and size 18 at the age of 23, she is now, at age 38, a size 4, has a waist and weighs 160 pounds. If you are selling your home to your children or transferring title outside the open market, then the transaction may be characterized as not arms length. Such a transfer may have tax consequences, so you should discuss it with a tax attorney or accountant before entering into such a transaction. The transfer of title to a son or daughter may cause parents to lose favorable property tax treatment, require them to pay state gift taxes, or have other unexpected consequences. From a capital gains point of view, it may be more prudent for the children to inherit a property than to receive it as a gift. The disposition of real estate should be considered within the entire framework of your tax and estate planning.
