Show page A8 Tuesday, August 13, 1996 Davis County Clipper Rona and Goldstein to honor Jerusalems 3000th anniversary OGDEN Renowned lecturer, Daniel Rona, the only LDS tour g guide in Israel, and concert pianist Marvin Goldstein, will hold a special meeting honoring Jerusalems 3000 anniversary free to the public on Aug. 20 at 7 p.m. at the Ogden Tabernacle, 2133 award-winnin- Washington Blvd. Goldstein will perform several numbers and Rona will speak on the Tribes of Judah and Joseph and their Relationship with the Savior. It is anticipated Rona will address recent news events in Israel, including the election of the new prime minister, during a question and answer session. Goldstein began his professional training at age 9. He was awarded a music scholarship to the Tel Aviv University School of Music. His studies continued at the Mozar-teu- of Salzburg, Austria. He completed bachelor and masters degrees in music at Florida State University in Tallahassee where he lives with his wife Lanea and son Nicholas. Goldstein joined the LDS Church in 1985 and has produced several CDs of inspirational music, winning many awards and showcas- v rV ing his skills. Rona was born in what is now Israel and educated in the United V.WAWAvJ States, where he joined the LDS Church. After a career in radio broadcasting and management Rona felt the call back to Israel. He and his family returned there in 1974 when he began a two- - year process to become a licensed tour guide. He tours approximately 30-4- 0 times yearly. He maintains dual citizenship. His unique background as an American and an Israeli, a Mormon and a Jew, bring insights to those who tour with him, no other guide can bring. Rona established the Ensign Foundation to bridge rela- other areas.
