Show page 12 September 12, 1995 Friday, Davis County Clipper 0 Buffalo Babies offers new childrens clothes Cherie Huber Contributing Writer Becky Edwards of Bountiful, a marriage and family therapist, is joining forces with her sisters to form a new childrens clothing company called Buffalo Babies. The new company will be based in Bountiful. Although Buffalo Babies company was just formed this past April, Buffalo Babies vests and jackets are already on the racks at Nordstrom as part of the stores fall line for children. The Buffalo Babies fall line consists solely of vests and jackets ranging in size for children ages two through six. The polar fleece vests come in four solid colors with silver buttons. The denim jackets are accented with Navajo design tapestry fabric stitched under the collar and on the back of the jacket. The four sisters, daughters of Barbara and Alvin Price of Provo, live thousands of miles away from each other in Bountiful, Chicago, Dallas and Cleveland. But the miles have not stopped the four sisters from pooling their creative energies. We always wanted to start a company that would allow us to work together while utilizing our talents and skills, said Nicole Price, a certified public accountant who lives in Cleveland. A chil- drens clothing company seemed like a natural choice. The choice is natural because one of the chief talents shared by all four sisters ins the ability to design and sew. Their mother, a clothing and sewing skills. For a number of years while they were in junior and senior high school in Provo, the sis- teacher at Provo High School, taught all of her daughters how to sew by the time they were five ters operated a summer sewing development professor at BYU, knows how to sew and is often their spring line, already in the years old. Even their father, a child involved in family sewing projects as a design consultant. The entire family was in Utah last April for our dads 60th birthday party. We had already flirted with the idea of starting a childrens school out of their home known as Prices Sew n Sews. The sisters are planning to show works, at the womens and childrens clothing spring show at the Dallas International Apparel Mart this October. Showing their spring line at the Dallas Mart will bring nationwide exposure and will be a big step for Buffalo Babies, which up to this point has kept everything from production of the hang tags to assembly of the garments in the family. While the sisters made a decision to show the Buffalo Babies fall line exclusively at Nordstrom, the company is gearing up to expand in see BUFFALO" pg. 13 ALL ALTERATIONS clothing company, so while we were together her we had the opportunity to have a brainstorming session about designs, production and company goals, said Edwards. The time the sisters had together provided the necessary infusion of enthusiasm and creativity to get the new company off the ground.
