The 36 residents originally considered the service district formulation because they had no water service, according to Phil Thayn, a resident in the affected PRICE 637-650- 11, 1979 Wednesday, April area. We have got people hauling water by truck and storing it in cisterns right now, Since their request to the commissioners, the residents have been approached and are negotiating with East Price and Price River water districts to supply water, Thavn said. There is no reason to push for a small area of service if either district can provide us with water quickly and inexpensively, Thayn said. Thayn said. The City of Wellington plans to build a water line loop and reservoir tank to carry district water to the north Wellington area, according to Wellington Mayor Ray Davis. The 36 county residents may plug into the proposed water line if they wish, Davis said. Wellington City planned the eight-incwater line to increase the pressure and flow to some 15 city residents living in north Wellington who suffer from inadequate water service, Davis said. The line would also insure that the 571 acres annexed last month to Wellington, between Highway 6 and the Old Wellington Road, has adequate water service, Davis said. The city didnt want the small water district established which h may complicate any future annexation options of the land surrounding the water line, Davis said. The water line, some seven miles in length, would follow the Coal Creek Road loop, Davis said. It will be available to the 36 county residents living within a 18 square mile area, Davis said. Funding for the proposed will include construction feasibility and construction grant requests which are being put together by Gary Tomsic, executive director of the Southeastern Utah Association of Governments. Even with the installation of the water line the 36 residents arent out of th drought. They will have to plant water lines anywhere from 50 to 1.25 miles in length to plug into the Wellington pipeline, Thayn said.
