The family of Cornelia Thome Sanders state legislator, former LDS Mission president, former National Jaycees President and one of my judges (with Hartman Rector Jr. and Jackie Nokes) to be master of ceremonies for the banquet. He told me that Jaycees is designed to help young njen learn and that I would not learn to come out of myself more ho and have great experiences if has done this sort of thing to be master numerous times-we- re of ceremonies. Not that there is anything wrong with a secular organization allowing the conmsumption of liquor or coffee or anything else legal. Thats fine. But when the rowdiness becomes the perceived reason for the clubs existence, it loses memDers last. This is what has happened with the North Sevier Jaycees. The reputation is not entirely deserved. There have been many good leaders of the club in recent years who have tried to overcome that reputation but it had already done its damage. for he-w- is with much gratitude in our I am a living example of what Jaycees can mean in a persons life. My former employer, Ben Hansen (former managing Editor of the Daily Herald in Provo) was gung ho for jaycees and invited all of his employees to come with him to all their luncheons. I went reluctantly at first but later got to like it. A few weeks after I joined Jaycees, Ben Hansen nominated me to head the state Three Outstanding Young Men program for 1980. in just two days something will happen to a Salina club that has not happened in many many years. In fact, its never happened. ' hearts that we thank you for the kindness and goodness shown to us at the passing of our mother, Thelma S. Jensen. The lovely flowers, money, those that participated in the funeral services, making it so beautiful, those that attended, the food, phone calls, cards and especially the Redmond Ward Relief Society and those that helped with the nice luncheon. In just two days the North Sevier Chapter of the United States Jaycees will lose its charter. It will lose its rights to function as a Jaycees organization. . , i This will happen unless young men between the ages of 18 and 37 wake up to the great things Jaycees can be. This community needs jaycees. There are things that need to be done in this town which need the help of all young men. There are young men who need the training Jaycees can give them. When its run even halfway decently, a jaycee club is fun, meaningful and the best thing that can happen to a young man in several important areas of his life.
