Show 10 The Salma Sun Thursday, June Merit Badge Pow Wow Announced' for Salina 30, 1983 ' J- Redmond News ft Mr. and Mrs. Meriin Ashman were in Midvale Friday and Saturday to celebrate their grandaughter Lauries birthday. Saturday they took their grandson Clay to the airport. He flew to New Orleans to compete in National DECA (Distributive Education Clubs of America) in week long competition. He was the state winner in Food Marketing. He is representing Hillaest High School and is sponsored by the Jordan School District. Sunday Lora Dee Christensen and her daughter, Connie, Las Vegas, visited the Ashmans. They were here to attend the farewell for President jerald Johnson and family. Stella and Ellwood Larsen, Joan, Gail and C.H. Heath spent this past week at Fishlake. Gail is working there as a hostess at the Doctor Creek Camp. They all had a good time. Stella and Ellwood then drove to Bear River City Friday for the wedding of Doug Tolboc and Jackie Abil. Doug is the son of Garth and the late Beulah Tolboe. On their way home they visted with their daughter and son in law, Karen and Elden Dickson, Salt Lake. Keith, Debbie Stubbs and Glen, LeAnn Pickett and families went up in the canyons and fished and camped. They all had a good time. Jerry, Eva Mae Pickett and family are spending the week in Victor, Idaho. They are visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Monroe Dustin and other family members. Una Hampton fell at her home and hurt her hip. She is in the Gunnison Hospital and we hope she gets to feeling better soon. Harvey Miller is home from school. He is spending the summer driving truck for his dad, Rulon Miller. Amelda Pouson has had a busy weekend. John Poulson and his son from Kaysville, LaRue and Roger Elkins, Sandy, Gaylen and Colleen Poulson and daughter, Colorado, Dennis and Kathleen Jensen and son, Heber City came and installed a new sprinkling system for her. Dennis and Gaylens sons have been staying with their grandmother the past week and they went home with their parents. They all worked hard and had a good time. Idella Willardson has had major surgery in the Cottonwood Hospital. She is now staying with her daughter, Susan and family for a few days. She is doing fine and will be coming home Friday. Irene Ruberto from 'Da Vegas,? New Mexico has spent some time with her father, Peter Willardson. Also visiting him has been his son Richard. He and Pete went fishing and had an enjoyable time. Clover and Sam Watson and family have been staying with their parents, Karol and Loma Draper. Sam has a job in Moab and they will be going there to live. ' Tami Hales is spending the week vjlWM tnrk. It was held at the Redmond Ward and her children and all their families were there. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Rasmussen, Murray, Mrs. Ella Christensen, Magna; Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Morley, Kaysville,. with the help of Mrs. Virginia Dickert, Salina and Mrs. Richard Johnson, a grandaughter from Fort Collins, Colorado, arranged, prepared the refreshments and hosted it. 6 year old June 23, 1983. His parents are Mr. and Mrs. Alan Peterson, Redmond. His grandparents are Mr. Max Peterson, Redmond, and Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Bretz, Salina. Great grandparents are Mr. and Mis. Bertha Olsen, Salt Lake City, Mr. Nels Peterson, San Jose, Calif., and Mr. and Mrs. Russell Bretz, Wappello, Iowa. one Nellies grandson, Mr. and Mrs. Lee Rasmussen and family, Boise, Ida., and a granddaughter, Nancy Johnson and her daughter, Colo., spent the day visiting also. Nellie has 10 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. All of Sidneys family were here and spent the day visiting Nellie and Sidney. Also here were Mr. and Mrs. DeLloyd Christensen, Salt Lake, Florence Smith, San Gabriel, a sister in law, Mrs. William Riding and her daughter, Salt Lake. Nellie had a wonderful day and would like'to thank everyone who came and made this a special day for her. The young adults will be attending the Independence Day Parade and Rodeo on Monday, the 4th of July. Johnson received his Eagle Scout Badge Sunday, June 26, 1983. It was presented to him in his familys farewell program prior to their departure for the Australia Perth LDS Mission. Gordons Eagle Scout Project was the installation of street signs in Aurora City. Gordon is the son of President and Mrs. Jerold Johnson, Aurora. President Johnson will Sanpe- non-prof- soon be serving as president of the Perth mission. Tally Club Meets At Acord Lake The Tally Club had its spring party at Accord Lake at the cabin of Mr. and Mrs. Keith Barrett. Dinner was served at 7 p.m. to 14 guests. The dinner committee was Mr. and Mrs. Keith Barrett and Mr. and Mrs. Warren Crane. Visiting was the evenings past time. There are 50 such students currently on the Snow College campus receiving instruction in mathematics, reading, English, psychology and foreign language. The courses are geared to a work program with training it provided with various organizations. The program is designed as a forerunner to a college education with focus on career planning. DeMont Wiser, Snow College Director of Special Services and Upward Bound, prepared the proposal and has directed the program. Sonoma and LaMar Bosshardt spent the weekend visiting in Murray with their children, Vicky and John Leavitt and family, also Concha, Terry Ahlquist and family. Nikki Mickelson entertained her dub Wednesday evening. She then went to Salt Lake to visit her sister and do some shopping. Her daugh- ter Cami is visiting in Nevada this 2 Week with relatives. On Carlos and Bonnies wedding anniversary they went through the Jordan River Temple and were sealed. Allen and Diana Peterson, Preston and Carolyn Pickett, Larry and Sue Ricketts, Bishop and Marcia Bosshardt, Bertha Olsen and one of her college friends all went with them. Preston and Carolyn served a dinner following at their home in Riverton. Bonnie and Carlos are now in Texas at a family reunion. Bill and Marge Poulson attended an Anderson reunion in Sacramento, Calif, this past week. They" visited with Vera and Glad Christensen, Lauralyn and Bob Bock. 75 Andersons from all over the western states attended. They spent two days playing games and feasting. Bill and Marge were gone five days. Betty Miller went with her parents and sister to Plattsmouth, Nebraska to visit her brother. They then traveled to Marsville, Arkansas to visit her fathers home town and see the sights. in conjunction with the Fishlake pow wow to be held in Richfield at the same time. Registration information was delivered to the scouting coordinators of all the units in North Sevier last Sunday, June 26, and should be in the hands of all Scout leaders by this time. Chad and Elaine Nelson were here Friday and Saturday working on their home.
