The team began as an idea bade in 1978. Wolf had just returned from two years in the country of Jordan developing an aerobatic team, the Royal Jordanian Falcons, and was flying airshows around the Northwest in his Pitts Special. Although the event is sponsored by the Salina Chamber of Commerce, it has been supported by many other groups and businesses in Gunnison, Manti, Ephraim, Richfield, Fillmore and Wayne County. Before heading for the air show this Saturday morning or afternoon, ' persons may be interested in learning a little bit about the men and women who will be risking their lives and providing entertainment for the air show crowd. The Great American Flying In September he was invited to a show at the Henley Aerodrome in northern Idaho where Soper was running the shop. After flying the show Wolf said how much he liked the area and would stay if he had work. He was hired by the shop and a month or two later he let Soper fly his Pitts. UPHA Gives Highest Honor to NS Native The Utah Public Health Association presented its highest honor,' the Theodore Bruce Beatty award to Echomae Anderson, R.N. Echomae is the daughter of the late D.M. and Annie Anderson, life time residents of Salina. Ms. Anderson recently retired from 15 years service with the Utah department ot Health. Her long career in nursing .has had an emphasis in the Sudden Infant Death Syndrome Program in Utah. She was instrumental in assisting emergency medical technicians, physicians, funeral directors and parents in gaining an understanding of SIDS. She has been active in the Utah Public Health Association, the Hospice of Salt Lake, American Nurses Association, and the Utah Nurses Association. Echomae has many friends throughout the medical and nulling field in Utah. |
