Candidates Should Support President give-awa- No plan is perfect, but so far no one has come up with one that does not reek of the past liberal fiasco or smell of the placido-lik- e plans of the past three U.S. presidents. Whoever is supported for congress from the district should be committed to giving Reagans plans the support they deserve. It would be tragic and even criminal if the policies espoused by the current administration fail simply becuase our elected congressmen watered them down until they were weak echos of programs which have put this country in the sad condition it is in CARD OF THANKS Editors We would like to thank all of those friends and family of Sidney Peterson Was J. During these more candid sessions, he said he realizes he is just one man and cannot perform miracles. But no matter who is running, the first thing I would demand of any candidate is his pledge to support the policies of Ronald Reagan, he said. That would be first on my list. Besides his professorship in the communications department, B.Y.U. Beckham currently serves on the board of directors of several small businesses. He also serves as a director of several charitable organizations. He recently completed his third term as president of the Utah National Parks Council of the Boy Scouts of America, the council to which North Sevier area scouts belong. Before becoming associated with the communications department, Beckham helped raise $40 million for Brigham Young University. Story Does Several candidates for the newly created Third U.S. Congressional district have said they will support President Ronald Reagans policies if elected. We cheer these candidates intentions and believe that no candidate should be considered who will not pledge to give Reagans policies the same chance given the fiscal and governmental plans of the past 50 years. We believe the philosophy of overspending and overgiving espoused by Democrats and Republicans alike since the days of Franklin Delano Roosevelt and particularly since the days of Lyndon Johnsons Great Society have brought this nation to near bankruptcy. Now, not even six months after Reagans plans have been put iny to effect, the same group that rode to power on the not work. will are that plan complaining Reagans program We believe Reagans plan should be given the full support of Congress, just as Johnsons plan was implemented almost in its entirety by congress in the sixties.
