Thalman, 55, Sigurd, died Feb. 28, 1980, in Sevier Valley Hospital of a heart attack. He was born Jan. 6, 1925, to Albert Verg and Esther Jensen Thalman. He married Lael Payne on June 23, 1954, in the Manti LDS Temple. A farmer, he was active in the LDS Church and served as Bishop of Vermillion Ward and High Council member of the North Sevier STake. He served a mission for the LDS Church in Denmark. He was currently serving on the Richfield Utah Stake High Council and Sevier County Planning Board. He was former mayor of Sigurd and also served on the Town Council. Always active in sports, he was an avid supporter of local athletic individuals 436-831- 529-792- 29-7246. programs. He is survived by his wife; three sons and three daughters, Matt, Mrs. Robert Brems (Laurie), both Logan; Eryce, Cindy, Lisa and Tony, all Sigurd; his mother, also Sigurd; and two sisters, Mrs. L. D. Scott (Vergia) Lindon and Mrs. Jack Robinson (Creta) Richfield. Funeral services were held Monday, March 3, in the Sigurd Ward Chapel.
