Schriver, 19, crossed the center line and struck the Volkswagon driven by Deon Olsen COLLISION KILLS THREE-Thr- ee Southern Utah Fuel Co. miners from Sanpete County beaded for work Monday morning died in a fiery car- - truck collision four miles north of Salina on U.S. 89. Killed were Deon Olsen, 44, and his brother, Lynn Brent Daylight Burglars Ransack Merrill Thompson Residence Burglars ransacked every room of the Merrill Thompson home, 900 W. Main, about 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 2, and made off with guns, checks, a typewriter, and medicine. The thieves even took the blanket off the Thompsons bed to wrap up their loot and transport it across the street to their car. The Thompsons were in Gunnison that morning. Sevier County Sheriffs officials said they were notified that the car was wrecked in New Berlin, Wis., and that Thompsons checks and other papers were found in the vehicle. The occupants of the vehicle were not ap- prehended. A full report was the Wisconsin by promised authorities. The Thompsons granddaughter, Hilary Thompson, entered the house through the back door and heard the robbers runmng out the front door to their car, which was parked across the highway. She ran out the back door to the Premium Oil Station where her older brother, Davy, is employed. He had just dropped her off at the Thompson residence after picking her up at their home in Aurora. They both noticed the car as they stopped in front of the house and wondered about it. Davy notified police, who put out a bulletin .with a description of the car, but were unable to apprehend the suspects. Olsen, 21, both of Sterling; and Danny Miller, 24, Manti. The Volkswagen gas tank, located in the front of the vehicle, apparently exploded and caught fire, igniting the Chevrolet pickup truck also, according to Chet Johnson, Utah Highway Patrolman who is investigating the accident The Volkswagen was pushed back north 50 feet after the initial impact Both vehicles were burned and totally demolished Schrivers father, Cecil R Schriver, 44, was a passenger in the truck Neither was seriously injured in the crash, although they were taken to Sevier Valley Hospital where they were treated for cuts and bruises and released Deon Olsen was trapped in the wreckage of the Volkswagen Lynn Olsen was removed from the wreck and apparently died shortly afterward, Trooper Johnson said, adding fhe had been an Indian tha scene but could not be located for questioning about the incident Canvass Is Same As Vote Count making Team Wins A Search and Rescue meet was held Saturday, Aug. 4, in Nephi. The North Sevier Jeep Posse attended the meet and entered competitive contests on search and rescue. His wife and one son, David Lee, Ft. Sill, Okla , survive. From 8.30 a m until 4 p m , the Gooseberry Youth Conservation Corps enrollees, under the direction of Charles R. Allred, program manager of the YCC and Richfield District Ranger of the Fishlake National Forest, will load the wood, one truck-lengt- h cord. The youth camp is located at the Gooseberry Ranger Station, on the about 16 Gooseberry road off miles southeast of Salina. The general public may come up and cut and haul wood from Tuesday through Thursday, Aug. 14 16. Free use firewood permits will be issued this week at Gooseberry.
