Main, until Aug. 22. This exhibit features personal favorites from private collections of Davis County residents and is a first of its kind for the center. Each contributor wrote a small paragraph about the significance of the artwork to them, and why it had become their favorite. We have 27 paintings on display, and are pleased with the variety, said Emma Miller, staff member at the center. We hope to make this a yearly event and expand it to include sculpture and other types of artwork. According to Miller, the purpose for the exhibit is to promote the arts in Davis County and to raise awareness about the quality of life that art adds to the community. Non of the contributors submitted their own work, but two of them submitted each others, Miller said. The paintings fill two of the four galleries in the center and can be viewed from 5 to 9 p.m. Monday evenings, Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday from 2 to 5 tions program during school registration today through Aug. 19.
