Hinton, a popular writer of teenage stories. It was also made into a Hollywood movie. The story is about two gangs of teenagers, the Socs (short for socials) and the Greasers, as told through the eyes of Pony Boy Curtis, a member of the latter group. In the end, he realizes you dont need to be in a gang to fit in. The story deals with many teenage problems, including drinking. Gordon, son of Brant L. and Grace Gordon of Clinton, recently completed the automotive organizational maintenance course at Marine Corps Service Support Schools, Marine Corps Base, Camp Lejeune, N.C. Students are taught the technical knowledge and functional skills needed to efficiently perform inspections, diagnostic tests, adjustments, services and repairs to tactical motor transport equipment under garrison or field operating conditions. A 1983 graduate of Clearfield High, he joined the Marine Corps in 1991. Lakeside Review Marine Sgt. Christopher L Carr, son of Ruth Happy of Layton, re- cently received the Meritorious Unit Citation while serving at Marine Corps Recruiting Station New York, Garden City, N.Y. The unit was cited for its achievements in the field of total force recruiting and officer procurement. Carr significantly contributed to the accomplishments of the recruiting service during a period of changing and challenging market conditions. The 1982 graduate of Clearfield High School joined the Marine Corps in 1983. Army Reserve Pvt. Jennifer J. Ganje has completed basic training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C. During the training, students re ceived instruction in drill and ceremonies, weapons, map reading, tactics, military courtesy, military justice, first aid, and Army history and traditions. Ganje is the daughter of Bonnie J. Johnson of Clinton. Army Reserve Pvt.
