Only athletes over the age of 50 may participate in events at the Huntsman Chemicals World Senior Games in Southern Utah. John H. Morgan Jr., founder and president of the World Senior Games and Sylvia Wunderli, soft-bal- and executive director, spoke at a recent Kaysville Area Chamber of Commerce meeting at the Kaysville City Building. Lady Lightning 1980 soccer team placed fifth overall in the Far West Regional Soccer Tournament June 19-2- 4 in Denver. Colo. The team, which represented Utah as the 2 girls state champions, competed against teams from California, Colorado, Nevada and Wyoming. Oct. 12 through 23, senior athletes of both sexes will gather in St. l, George to compete in cycling, swimming, tennis, bowling, racquetball, track and field, basketball, golf, horseshoes, table tennis, biathlon (cycling and running) and road racing events. According to Wunderli, she and Morgan took their idea of senior Olympics to the governor, church leaders and business people, then went to St. George to meet with leaders in that community.
