What Im saying is, there is police brutality. There is no doubt about it. Most policemen are not guilty of it however, and that is speaking from d experience. In every field you have bad apples. You cant have 100 percent success in everything. Steve Bernards, Clinton This is my personal feeling because I do work for the sheriffs department and I dont want to represent them. The media has a right to expose anything like that. It can get blown out of proportion though. But I saw the tapes (of the L.A. beating) and I didnt agree with what I saw. If an officer does not do his job correctly then it should be taken care of. But there are a lot of good officers out there that do their job right and the media doesnt bring that up as much as I wish they would. They put their life on the line every night. I think there are some of them that abuse the system, but I think a majority of them dont. I think they deserve more money. And they work a lot of hours. I think in Mike Croft, Syracuse L.A. they were out of line, but in general I think they need to track down on criminals. Most of the time they dont know how to approach a criminal because he may be loaded with a weapon. Some times it takes force to bring them down. If thats what it takes, I think officers should take full force and bring the man down. I think they do a great job and the stronger they can be the better off. Thats the way I feel about it. Christy and Jeremy Karras Kaysville needs equitable policy on dumping fees Landfill Davis County landfill policy discrimi- March. Gross discrimination exists! A $3 charge per load is the fee to take spring cleanup to the dump if you take it yourself. But if you cant, due to time constraint, mental or physical disability and must pay someone to take it for you, you will pay $50 per ton. Legalized plunder exists in this monopoly. , Davis County is not even competitive with Weber County that charges $12.50 per ton for commercial, not $50. The issuing of cards to each' household for the past several years was been dropped this year because they couldnt control commercial business, so as a result we the citizens get a raw deal from unlimited government action. Its time this policy was changed. This action is like marking all citizens as criminals, because the police cant tell who the criminal is. Where can young men find employment today? One area is in the lawn care business. My son, Joseph just started a lawn care business BIONIC Service. BIONIC stands for Believe it or not I care," and he docs! Recently he employed 8 young men ranging from 14 to 23 in age to do some spring cleanup. Can you expect him to absorb the cost of $50 per ton? If he goes out of business some young men will also lose their jobs. Can the elderly afford this charge or can you? If you are concerned about the elderly, the youth and your own rights to life, liberty and property call the members of the Davis County Commission and the mayors of each of the cities in Davis County to get an equitable policy established now.
